Tips and Notes for Photography

1. Always fill the frame. Use zoom and your legs to get closer.
2. A good photo is dramatic and exaggerates.
3. Don't center your subject!
4. Create Depth.
5. Connect the Dots. Leading lines can connect the visuals of your photo.
6. Perspective is everything!
7. Lighting is everything!

Questions to Subject: 1. Do your Homework. 2. Don't try to wing it, have your questions written down. 3. Don't ask "Yes or No" Questions. 4. Don't ask your subject to speak to the camera. Camera Tips: Lighting: Defuse Light Chinees Lantern Composition & Framing Headroom No space above their head. Eyes Should be 2/3 of the frame. Frame Hands Chin Background & Foreground Spend time making the background looking good. Lighting Positions: Key light - Top left (Directors view). Fill Light - Bottom Right (Directors view). Back or Head Light - Put it above, subject outline.  Background light - Light up the background behind the subject.
